Corporate Espionage

Yesterday on November the 29th Greenpeace filed a lawsuit suing two major chemical companies, their own PR firms as well as several individuals. The companies Dow Chemical and Sasol (previously known as CONDEA Vista) went through the PR firm Dezenhall Resources and Ketchum hired private investigators from Beckett Brown International  to spy on Greenpeace in the year 1998 to 2000.

The private investigators trespassed on Greenpeace property, stole thousands of documents, intercepted phone call details and conducted unlawful surveillance and theft of confidential information.

Greenpeace are suing them for infiltrating, theft of confidential documents as well as the intention of blunting or thwarting Greenpeace’s campaigns.
